Cuidaven® is a healthcare IT application designed to be run on smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. Cuidaven® belongs to the Andalusian Health Service (SAS), is free and arises as a result of an Innovation Project (PIN-0288-2018) financed by the Ministry of Health and Families of the Junta de Andalucía and with the approval of the Committee of Ethics and Research of Huelva.

It is part of the program of Centers Committed to Excellence in Care (CCEC® / BPSO®) and has the support of the Andalusian Care Strategy (Picuida).

Cuidaven® is aimed at healthcare professionals and students who work in the care of venous devices (DV): doctors, nurses and auxiliary nursing care technicians. It is also aimed at adults, pediatrics and neonates with DV, as well as their families and caregivers.

The main objective of Cuidaven® is to reduce Complications associated with the use of VDs, improve the skills of nurses, promote Health Education and Patient Safety for people with VD, and improve their Satisfaction, Knowledge and Quality of Life .

The team of professionals that participated in this project have been:
• PI of the project: Jesús Bujalance Hoyos, nurse in the Quality Unit of the Regional University Hospital of Malaga (HRUM).
• 25 Nurses (from the 6 hospitals in Malaga), 5 Pharmacists, 1 Nurse and 1 Occupational Physician and 1 Higher Computer Technician from HRUM.
• 1 Psychologist from the AECC.
• 1 Psychologist from the Olivares Foundation.

Technically it has been developed by the staff of the computer service of the Andalusian School of Public Health and the videos have been made by Séptimo Pixel 2020.

Cuidaven® has been validated by several leading professionals in the care of VDs (Ian Blanco, Gloria Ortiz, Xavier García, Antonio Verduo, Rosario Ros and Isidro Manrique) and by the following scientific societies: FlebitisZero, gruMAVe and Seinav.
Cuidaven® will evaluate the impact of its implementation through a pre-post quasi-experimental research study.

Among the functionalities of Cuidaven® we highlight:

SECTION FOR PROFESSIONALS.

• List of Evidence-Based Care Recommendations on the care of VDs both for adults and at the pediatric and neonatal level, describing the level of evidence and grade of recommendation (GRADE) and the bibliographic references.
• Access to training videos on the care and management of different VDs (CPC, PICC, MIDLINE, PORT and CICC for hemodialysis).
• Evaluation of the adherence of professionals to these recommendations as verification questions (CheckList).
• Question bank: a space to share knowledge about the care of DVs.
• SAS Pharmacotherapeutic Guide identifying:
or pH, diluted pH, osmolarity, diluted osmolarity, reconstitution, reconstituted stability, dilution, diluted stability, routes of administration, time of administration, observations, high-risk drugs and dangerous drugs.
SECTION FOR CITIZENSHIP.

• Offer information and care recommendations for people with DV for both adults and pediatric and neonatal levels.
• Make available to these people different videos with information and care recommendations developed by nurses and involve them in their own safety.
